I wrote a couple of times before, and have been following your blog since the beginning. I am caring for my mother and have laughed and cried at your stories which are so similar to my own.
My thoughts are with you as you. You were there for your Dad and in this world that can at times be so dismissive of people who aren't "useful", that can be very hard. Bless you and your friends and family.
I don't know how much eating your dad got done at his breakfast Friday morning, he was probably too busy telling your mom and Jesus all about his beloved daughter. He was probably sharing how devoted she was to him and always put him first. Always there to care for him and love him. He's probably happy to see that you will miss him, but know that he is in a wonderful place having a wonderful time. Praise God for ending his suffering and taking him to his savior Jesus. God is good! Please call me for anything Marcia...meals? House cleaning?Even just some company:-) Love to you and yours!
I am a wife, mother of two grown kids, a pediatric occupational therapist, and now...care giver for my 87 year old father who happens to have Alzheimer's. I share this journey with my family, who has shown love, patience, and strength...not to mention great respite, when needed.
That was then...
Now I am adjusting to life without my dad after his death, and struggling with the aftermath of Alzheimer's Disease.

Bless you, my friend. It has been a pleasure knowing him and I hope he puts in a good word for me. Love you and praying for you.
